The board of directors of International Lisp Conference Limited has determined the following policy with regard to overpayments.

  1. Any unsolicited bank transfer received by ILC Ltd will be kept in a holding account separate from its day-to-day current account.

  2. If any bank transfer received in connection with an intended registration for the conference is between ten and one hundred pounds over the correct registration fee, then the surplus ammount will be kept in the holding account described above.

  3. If any bank transfer received in connection with an intended registration for the conference is greater than one hundred pounds above the correct registration fee, then the entire ammount received will be kept in the holding account described above and the registration will cancelled immediately.

  4. The board will make every effort to contact the originator of any unsolicited payment or overpayment as soon as possible after it is discovered.

  5. Under no circumstances whatsoever can any unsolicited payment or any overpayment greater than ten pounds be refunded until 3 months after the start of the conference, i.e. July 1st 2007. The board will not vary this policy unless directed to do otherwise by a UK court of law.

  6. Under no circumstances whatsoever can any unsolicited payment or any overpayment greater than ten pounds be refunded without positive confirmation of the identity of the original payment's originator. Pending advice to the contrary, sight by a director of ILC Ltd of the originator's passport (accompanied by its holder) at the conference will suffice.

  7. Cheques representing unsolicited payments or overpayments by more than ten pounds will not be cashed under any circumstances. Paypal transfers representing unsolicited payments or overpayments by more than ten pounds will not be accepted, and Paypal will be notified.

  8. If the board has reason to suspect fraudulent or other illegal acts on the part of the originator of any payment, then the police will be notified immediately.

  9. This policy will be kept under review and may be altered from time to time as necessary.

  10. The board wishes it to be known that it is well aware of the criminal cashback fraud.

  11. Although it would be inappropriate to go into details at present, we can say before anyone asks that: no, we have not been victims of any fraudulent activity. And no, we don't intend to be.
